Gibson Lake Shimmer, The Kootenays, BC, Canada
This small alpine lake is fed by melting snow from Kokanee Glacier, glimpsed in the upper right. An avalanche has scraped a wide trail through the densely forested mountainside, and in the rocky foreground, weathered logs are garnished with wildflowery vegetation. A dark curtain opens upon a floodlit chorus on the far shore. It's all an angular setting for the cloud-jewel rippling in the icy water. Enjoy!
